The year 2014 was declared the EU-Russia Year of Science and solemnly opened in November 2013 by the Russian Minister of Education and Science Dmitry Livanov, and the European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science, Máire Geoghegan-Quinn. The framework of the EU-Russia Year of Science offers the unique opportunity to highlight EU-Russia cooperation in the field of science and innovation. At the same time it is also a perfect possibility to get familiar with the broad culture and history of Russian regions. As there are many Russian Regions that participate actively in the EU-Russia Year of Science we want to highlight these regions and their potential for STI cooperation with Europe.
