International Scientific Conference "Engineering & Telecommunications - En&T 2014"

The International Conference "Engineering & Telecommunications - En & T 2014" was held from 26 to 28 November 2014 in the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology /MIPT/. The organizers of the conference were the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (Russia), the Intercollege - Larnaca (Cyprus), the Mediterranean Institute of Applied Sciences (Cyprus) and the National Space Centre (Ireland).

The conference was included in a range of activities undertaken by the European Commission and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in the framework of the "Year of Science Russia - EU 2014", supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (grant 14-07-20512) and the IEEE - the oldest and largest international organization of professionals working in the field of electrical engineering and electronics and its applications.

The conference was attended by over 220 professionals and students, representatives of the twelve States, including four EU countries (Ireland, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Poland). More than 120 different papers were presented on the main directions of the conference: The main participants of the conference - Russian and foreign organizations having scientific and educational contacts with MIPT as well as individual participants who were interested in the latest innovative trends in engineering sciences, telecommunications and information technology.

During the conference some plenary sessions were telecasted and teleconferences with the University of Cyprus, Israel, Poland and the United States were organized.
Leading participants made presentations at workshops for young scientists and students of MIPT "Modern methods of applied research."

The main goals of the conference were the exchange of information on the results of scientific research, personal contacts and discussions of possible areas of joint work. The conference allowed Russian and foreign experts to establish closer contacts, to gain a deeper understanding of the work performed by at MIPT, their Russian partners, as well as foreign universities and research centers. It was revealed that there is great potential for developing cooperations between Russian and foreign organisations. Proposals were prepared about design and financing joint projects in the field of research and education.
